Jiang Zhian is a national first-class artist, a national first-class calligrapher, a member of the Calligraphy Association of Central Government Agencies, and vice-chairman of the China Central Radio and Television Culture and Tourism Development Center. He is a distinguished professor at the Beijing Hanlin Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, and has been recognized as a prominent figure in Sino-French relations with the Picasso Merit Award. Jiang has also received the Intangible Cultural Heritage Art Merit Award of China. After a rigorous review by the ISQ Art Market Certification from the China Art Authentication Committee, he was recognized as a renowned artist. In 2005, he won the Gold Medal in the first Celebrity Forum for Art, and in 2023, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the National Artists Information Center awarded him the Lifetime Achievement Award for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, the World Cultural and Art Lifetime Achievement Award, and the title of Master of Contemporary Chinese Art.

He has received national awards in culture and arts, and was recognized as an Artist of Virtue and Skill. Various organizations, including the International Federation of Culture and Arts, awarded him the 2023 Global Top Ten Outstanding Figures. The Chinese Modern Art Grandmasters Evaluation Committee named him a Grandmaster of Chinese Art, and his biography was included in the History of Modern Chinese Art. The Cultural Development Strategy Research Department granted him the title of “Meritorious Model Figure.” His work Pottery Soul was made into a national gift porcelain plate and presented to 193 countries. The Foreign Affairs Committee honored Jiang as an International Representative of Chinese Culture and Arts and a Cultural Ambassador for Major-Nation Diplomacy. He is an honorary member of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Institute, a director of the China National Painting Association, and a member of the Jiangxi Province Artists Association.

Jiang was selected as the chief artist for external cultural trade by the Ministry of Propaganda, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration of Radio and Television, and the General Administration of Press and Publication. He serves as an artistic advisor to the Social Arts Committee of the China Oriental Culture Research Association under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. His personal achievements were documented in China’s Art Merit Collection—The Jiang Zhian Volume, published by the Cultural Development Research Department. He holds several prestigious positions, including vice-chairman of the Asian Calligraphers and Painters Association, honorary president of the Chinese National Painting Academy, doctoral advisor at Oxford College of Art, national gift artist, senior honorary advisor at the Singapore New Shenzhou Art Academy, and lifetime honorary president and professor at the Taiwan Palace Museum Painting and Calligraphy Academy. He is also recognized as a meritorious artist of Chinese culture.

Jiang received a Special Contribution Award at the Beijing Olympics, the Xu Beihong Award at the second “Enter Life” national painting and calligraphy competition of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and was honored as a Cultural Ambassador for the Beijing Winter Olympics. He also received an Outstanding Contribution Award from CCTV’s Wisdom program and first prize for academic papers from the China Academy of Management Sciences. His accolades include the Grand Prize at the first China Top Calligraphy and Painting Masters Competition hosted by China Online Information Channel, and the Gold Medal at the 16th Sino-Japanese Painting and Calligraphy Exchange Exhibition, where he was named a Cultural Friendship Ambassador between China and Japan.

His works are collected by major Marshal Memorial Halls, as well as by collectors and art institutions in Europe, Southeast Asia, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Jiang has published The Collection of Modern Chinese Masters—Jiang Zhian, along with several crystal and glaze art catalogs and numerous painting and calligraphy compilations. His works have been featured multiple times at China’s Two Sessions and covered in media outlets such as People’s Daily, People’s Political Consultative Conference Daily, People’s Representative News, Chinese Sons and Daughters, Treasure Appraisal, and CCTV.
