Former Romanian Prime Minister Petre Roman Attends Cultural Exchange Forum in Beijing

Beijing, December 5, 2025 – The Cultural Exchange Forum featuring former Romanian Prime Minister Petre Roman was held in Beijing today. Mr. Roman attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the event.

Ms. Liu Shuang, Chair of the Beijing Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance and Cultural Communication, attended as a special guest. She delivered a keynote speech titled "Let the World See the Beauty of the East: The Contemporary Practice and International Dialogue of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage."

In her address, Ms. Liu Shuang shared a "Three-Pillar Framework" for promoting Chinese intangible cultural heritage on the global stage. This approach emphasizes Dynamic Inheritance to solidify the foundation, ensuring traditional skills thrive with vitality in modern society; Innovative Expression to build bridges, using cross-culturally perceptible methods to break down communication barriers; and Platform Empowerment to provide support, injecting scalable momentum into the international dissemination of cultural heritage.

Cultures gain richness through exchange, and civilisations are enriched by mutual learning. This forum, using intangible cultural heritage as its medium, not only continued the profound cultural friendship between China and Romania but also provided a practical case study in global civilisational dialogue. Each form of intangible heritage is a treasure of human civilisation, and every transnational exchange represents a meeting of minds. Moving forward, Ms. Liu Shuang will continue her dedicated work in the field of international cultural heritage communication, partnering with institutions across the world to ensure these living traditions serve as a bond connecting civilisations across borders, injecting a continuous stream of cultural vitality into the building of a global community of shared future.
